Working with Safe Only

Safe Only is a queer-led, not-for-profit collective providing professional, inclusive and trauma-informed security and welfare services.

We’re always interested in hearing from people who share our commitment to creating safer, more caring spaces, particularly people with experience of queer nightlife, harm reduction, welfare, security, community work and peer support.

Pay and Conditions

We think people should be properly paid for the work they do. Working in nightlife and community spaces can be demanding, and we don’t believe that passion for the work should mean accepting poor pay or conditions.

Safe Only is a London Living Wage Employer, which means everyone who works for us is paid at least the current London Living Wage.

Depending on the role, our employment package may include:

  • Pay at or above the London Living Wage
  • Paid holiday
  • Workplace pension
  • Statutory sick pay
  • Paid training where appropriate
  • Clear terms and conditions
  • Support from the wider Safe Only team
  • Opportunities to learn, develop and take on more responsibility

We also try to be realistic about what it takes to do this work well. We value people’s time, communicate as clearly as we can, and want our team to feel supported rather than taken for granted.

We’re a queer-led organisation and a lot of the people who work with us come from the communities and spaces we’re here to support. Creating a workplace where people feel respected, safe and able to be themselves is just as important to us as the work we do at events.

Job Openings

We’re looking for a Welfare Team Coordinator to help coordinate the day-to-day running of our welfare team.

You’ll be supporting bookings and shifts, communicating with venues, promoters and our team, and helping Safe Only develop as we grow.
